Development history and current situation of plant extracts.

China is rich in Chinese herbal medicine resources. There are more than 10000 kinds of Chinese herbal medicine, of which more than 1000-1200 are commonly used, of which about 90% are botanicals. The extraction and utilization of plant ingredients has a long history, but no independent industry has been formed. Until the 1970s, some domestic pharmaceutical enterprises used machinery to extract Chinese herbal medicine, but it was still only a part of the pharmaceutical industry. Plant extract is a term that includes modern processing technology. It first rose in Europe and America in the 1980s. With the improvement of industrialization level and the deepening of resource utilization, plant extracts are gradually favored by the market for their natural and healthy characteristics. Limited by technology, we started late in plant extracts, but developed rapidly. The export of herbal plant extracts alone accounts for more than 40% of the total export of traditional Chinese medicine. The industry is also developing towards high quality, gradually shifting from single raw material exports to diversified applications.
